Meet Karen Glanz

Karen has been qualified as an optometrist since 2000. She has since completed advanced studies in binocular vision, paediatric vision and sports vision. More recently Karen has updated her qualification with diagnostic privileges in order to perform cycloplegic refractions when necessary. She has completed an international course in behavioural optometry, enabling her to incorporate the latest methods in this field when treating patients.

Prior to qualifying as an Optometrist, Karen studied at Cape Peninsula University of Technology and qualified as a Dispensing Optician. This qualification provides insight to the latest lens and frame technologies and is beneficial when advising patients on the best frame and lens choices.

Karen has practiced as an optometrist for more than 20 years as a partner at Hill & Glanz Optometrists. She has since become the sole owner of Glanz Optometrist.

Glanz Optometrist is an independent optometric practice providing a holistic approach for visual needs for all ages, ensuring the best possible visual solutions for each patient. Karen has a special interest in children’s vision and offers vision therapy to both children and adults.

Glanz Optometrist is conveniently located in the heart of Durbanville and is adjacent to the Village Square Shopping Centre.
